Message from Christina Fu to supporters

Dear friends,

My husband asked me -through his lawyer- to give his deep gratitude and respect to all of you who have been so supportive and so generously lending help to him and to our family. He wished he could express his heartfelt thanks to you directly and individually, especially at this time of Thanksgiving. And he gives his thanks to God for keeping him safe and strong.

As you may have learned that my husband had a trial on August 4, but a verdict is not yet issued. With Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao scheduled to visit the United States during the second week of December (12/8 in DC, 12/9 NY, 12/10 Boston). I wish we can take this opportunity to show our strength again and push for the release of my husband.

My special thanks to my legal advisors Jerome Cohen and Jared Genser, my husband's thesis advisor Prof. Richard Zeckhauser at Harvard and many Congressional staffers on Capital Hill, we now have a letter to Premier Wen currently circulating amongst House members (see below) and a Senate letter to President Bush that asks him to raise the issue with Premier Wen during their meeting (see attachment). In addition, Harvard faculty members will deliver a letter to Premier Wen, when he addresses an audience at Harvard Business School on Dec. 10 (see attachment).

I’m writing to you once again to respectfully ask for your help.

1) Could you please call your Representatives and Senators to ask them sign on the letters?

2) Could you pease ask your friends or relatives who are Harvard faculty members to sign the Harvard faculty letter? Once you have their support, please forward to me their names, titles, affiliations and contact information, I will be coming around to get the signatures next week.

Given our successful lobbying experience in the past, I’m confident that we will get a large number of signatures on all three letters. Thank you very very much!
