Letter From Christina Fu -- Seeking Donation

Christina Fu

May 2, 2003

Dear Friends,

Thank you very much for your concern and the many kindnesses you have shown to me and to my family during this very difficult time in our lives. Whether you have sent a letter, signed on the petition, written an article, translated Jianli's works, participated in the candlelight vigils, made a donation, or helped take care of my children, all of your love and kind support are truly and deeply appreciated.

I have some good news to report. First, we have hired a competent attorney in Beijing who will be working on behalf of Jianli to arrange a meeting with him after the second phase of the investigation is completed by the Chinese government. According to my attorney, Chinese law provides for such a meeting, and he is committed to ensuring that this law be enforced. We are so excited about the prospect of our attorney meeting with Jianli to find out how he is and to be able to get messages to him from our family. It has been a whole year now since Jianli has been away, and we've hoped and prayed every day for this moment.

Secondly, on April 11, 2003, House Resolution 199 was introduced into Congress calling for the immediate release of my husband. It is very important to write and call your U.S. Representative asking that he or she vote in favor of this resolution. Your action in this matter is indispensable.

Since our personal resources have dwindled considerably, especially since Jianli no longer receives a salary, I am asking you, if it is at all possible, to please make a donation of any amount to help us do all that we must in order to secure my husband's freedom. Any contribution that you make will be very much appreciated (and tax deductible).

Donations may be sent to:
The Jianli Defense Fund (or JLDF)
P.O. Box 470422
Brookline, MA 02447
.

Thank you again from the very bottom of my heart for your tremendous support during this past year. I hope that Jianli's efforts, along with those of other freedom fighters', will one day bring the same freedoms that we enjoy in America to the people of China -- his beloved motherland -- for which Jianli has devoted so much of his life, beginning with his student activities in Tiananmen Square.

Please keep Jianli in your prayers. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Christina Fu
