I am helping - A Letter from Amnesty International to Christina Fu

Jared W. Olen

Dear Ms. Fu:

My name is Jared W. Olen and I first heard about your husband's case when you spoke at the Northeast Regional Conference for Amnesty International of 9 November 2002. After I had left the conference, I had only one thing in my mind: to do whatever I could to help free Dr. Yang.

I have spearheaded a campaign with my Auburn, MA Amnesty chapter called "Free Yang Jianli!". To date, we have sent many letters to Couselor & Consul General Li Ruiyou, Ambassador Yang Jiechi, US Ambassador to China Clark T. Randt, Chinese President Yang Jemin, and other US officials. I have just recently been in communication with Jared Genser of Freedom Now. I will be helping him to influence the Working Group on Abritrary Detention with a letter-writing campaign.

Ms. Fu, I just want you to know that I, along with many other people, am working so very hard to do whatever I can to help free your husband. We all stand with you in this crusade for justice. You always amaze me with your strength and courage when dealing with the Chinese government. We will never give up fighting for your husband's release. It is just a matter of time until he returns to the United States. Thank you for your time.

In solidarity,

Jared W. Olen
