Letter From Carol Schraft, Ph.D. (Principal Of Brookline Driscoll School)

Carol Schraft

Dear Friends,

As many of you know, Jianli Yang, the father of Aaron Yang, a Driscoll 1st grader has been arrested in China. There is a national campaign emerging to free Dr. Yang, the details of which are enclosed both as an Email below and as an attachment. There was also an article in the World section of last Sunday's Boston Globe. The letters on the attachment can be cut and pasted directly should you choose to mail them. There are two ways you can help. First, if you are part of any organization such as a church, government agency, business or school, it would help if you sent a letter on your letterhead to the Chinese Ambassador (the model letter is in the material you have here). It is important that there be a large volume of letters to the Chinese Ambassador. Second, if you or a family member or friend is willing to write to a member of Congress outside of Massachusetts (Kerry, Kennedy and Frank are already active and do not need additional letters) this would be extremely helpful. Again, the letters are already here and prepared. I hope that you will be able to help this wonderful family in some way. The next time you are in the Driscoll office, please notice the large framed Mandarin poster which says "God bless America." Just before he left for China, Dr. Yang taught a calligraphy lesson in Aaron's first grade classroom and made the poster as a gift for our school.

Thank you very much for your care and support.

Carol Schraft, Ph.D.
Principal of Brookline Driscoll School
